Traditional Dentures

A reliable option for restoring a full set of teeth, enhancing both appearance and function, while offering a solution for those who have lost multiple teeth.

A traditional denture is custom-made and rests on the gums of someone’s mouth. It uses the suction to the tissues and the shape of the arch to stay in place. The teeth color, size, and shape are selected based on your preferences along with the shade of the acrylic in order to best match your natural tissues. While a traditional denture can be made to fit very well, there is nothing to anchor it to your mouth, so they can still lift and slide which can lead to discomfort and frustration. When possible, it is recommended to utilize dental implants to provide a secure attachment for the denture to minimize the potential movement.

Sometimes traditional dentures are made in order to replace teeth that are going to be extracted. In this situation the traditional denture is called an immediate denture, because the denture will be made in advance then delivered at the same time that the teeth are extracted. An immediate traditional denture will then act like a band aid protecting the fresh extraction sites and you don’t have to go without teeth, providing a benefit the same day.
