Meet Our Team
I was born and raised here in Alaska and love being outside enjoying all Alaska has to offer. My two awesome pups and I spend many hours together hiking and cross-country skiing. As much fun as I have in Alaska, I also love to travel; especially to underdeveloped countries.
Most of what I love in dentistry is the opportunity to help others. I am truly passionate about that aspect of what I do which is why I am pursuing my dental degree. I look forward to doing more dental mission work and can’t wait to spend more time giving back once I am finished with dental school.
Having been born in Alaska and this being the only place I’ve lived, I focus on making my life Well-rounded in many ways. My time is spent with my four-legged “child”, Gabby and also at school pursuing my Dental Hygiene Degree.
My objective in coming to work every day is to make my patients happy and for them to feel welcomed. I love to see them leave with a smile on their face. I love knowing that I have taken care of them in the best way I can.
I consider myself to be a happy-go-lucky gal. I love animals- especially my own two dogs. I have been happily married to my husband, Edgar, for the last 2 years and look forward to many more to come.
I have had the opportunity to teach dental assisting as well as work in many fields within the dental office. I love being a part of the Alaska Premier Dental Group family.

My full name is Shantel Alohalani, however I prefer to be called Aloha. I was raised in California and have three beautiful daughters ages 15, 11 and 2. My youngest daughter is my tiny miracle, she was born at 26 weeks and weighed 1lb 13 oz. I enjoy spending all my extra time with them. Including many hours cheering them on in all of the activities they are involved in. I am their biggest fan!
I have been a dental assistant for over 15 years. I am proud to be licensed in both California and Alaska. I love working with children and make it my priority to give even the smallest of kids a great experience. I equally enjoy helping “the big kids” get the smile they’ve always dreamed of. I love working alongside Dr. Brian and helping people make APDG their dental home.
I am an individual of many places. I was originally born in Corona, CA and have lived in a variety of other places growing up. I have lived in Alaska since 2011, and have a beautiful fiancée named Katelin. I’m a recent graduate with a BAS in Business Administration, which leads me to my current pursuit of applying for dental school. I have been dental assisting since 2015, and what I enjoy most about my position at APDG is that I get to connect and work with people face-to-face.
Registered Dental Hygienists
I moved to Wasilla from the Chicago area in the fall of 2000. In 2006, I moved to Missoula, Montana and received my bachelor’s degree in biology from The University of Montana. After graduation, I returned to Alaska, the state I love. I later returned to school and earned my degree in dental hygiene from UAA.
My passion is for education and health care. For me, dental hygiene is the perfect collaboration of the two. I am excited to be a part of the APDG hygiene team so I can share my knowledge on how to create and maintain optimal oral and overall health with my patients.
My son and I love the outdoors and spend the majority of our free time in the mountains exploring new hiking trails and throwing rocks in the river. We are looking forward to countless more years in this beautiful state. I am excited to build relationships with the members of our Alaskan community.
Having grown up in Alaska, I didn’t realize what it had to offer until I went away to college. I spent years dreaming of coming home one day and I was finally able to do that 17 years ago. I can’t imagine living anywhere else and trying to enjoy as much as I can here in Alaska.
I love to fish, camp (as long as I can shower), hike and snow machine. I am learning to ride a dirt bike but with some trepidation, as my first five minutes riding one, landed me in the operating room.
I have five wonderful sons, ranging in age from 15 to 25. I am so passionate about working in dentistry that so far, two of my sons are also working in the dental field.
As a hygienist, my goal is to have a personal relationship with each patient and for the last 16 years, I feel like I have spent each day seeing one friend after another. I also have the opportunity to help all of these fantastic people I care about.
The most rewarding thing to me is to hear people say that they had a great time at their dental appointment and look forward to their next one.

Professionally, I love meeting new people, making our patients feel welcome and sharing laughs with them. Every day is an opportunity for a new adventure!
I moved up to Alaska in 1998 from Texas. I began my career in the health care field at age 18 by becoming an EMT and working for the American Hyperbaric Center. I worked with them for 7 years, moving up from a technician to supervisor and eventually into health care administration.
I became a patient of Dr. Joseph Baggette in 2008 and always enjoyed the level of care I received when I came in. When I was given the opportunity to join the APDG team and work closer to home, I couldn’t pass it up.
I enjoy getting out in the Alaskan outdoors with my young daughter and traveling to warmer climates to scuba dive.
I have thoroughly enjoyed expanding my knowledge into the dental field. I love greeting my patients and making sure I treat them like they are my family.
